Dress him up and show him off
Turn your dog into a toff
Promenade in your best attire
Smile and coo when others enquire
about your pooch’s pedigree
as he wonders off to have a pee
Ah what a wonderful feeling it is
to have a dog that is such a whiz
To watch as others stare and drool
at the ultimate in doggie cool
Knowing that your dog will forever be
A furry version of ‘Mini Me’

Little by little
they’re stealing
my patches
of green
As winter light
slowly but surely
disappears
in the dust
Yet climate change
is but a myth
a mirage
an illusion.
The melting ice
The yellow grass
The crinkled leaves
on lifeless trees
Are merely
figments of
my over active
imagination
But tell me
If this is so
Why can I not see
my patches
of green?

The smile within a smile wilts ever so slightly
As she contemplates years gone by
Fleeting moments of truth or dare
Brief interludes of perfection.
Yet the magic is not yet ready to fade away
This montage of future proprieties
Must depend upon the mirrors gaze
For a small taste of promise.
In the guise of youth’s gentle flutterings
She so strives to maintain
The self that she has come to know
The beauty of her .
The voice inside her must be appeased
Too much is left undone
Still searching for a softer light
Age is not a crime.

What is it that’s special about Qantas?
What is it that makes it so?
Well For years it’s been a touch of class
For Aussies on the go
For service this airline is truly five star
A flying palace in the sky
Transporting passengers near and far
On a different kind of high
To the U.S.A, Britain , Africa North and South
To Asia and South Pacific blue
Following the traditional flight path
With a well trained and charming crew
How could Australia let Qantas go bust?
They really are a class act
Qantas belongs to every one of us
And that my friends is fact
They do cost more than the average fare
But they are safer than the rest
And really when it comes to taking care
Safety first is always best
So please when you fly off on destination long haul
Or plan a trip interstate
Don’t think twice and give Qantas a call
Let’s hope it’s not too late.
