Waiting in vain for a public kiss

she tries so hard to refrain

Finding her man so hard to resist

standing out in the rain

Edging much too close to his ego

She knows she must innitiate

He is much too afraid to show

Affection on this first date

In private he becomes predatory

A lion after it’s prey

It’s always the same old story

He wants everything his way

But for her one kiss will show them all

he’s hers and there’ll be no more bids

She now has him pinned against the wall

And whispers in his ear

“C’mon … Kiss me stupid”

Before you fall.

Glam with lot’s of class

It doesn’t matter what your age

Show off your hour glass

Those girls were not afraid of hips

Nor of the tummy bulge

They smiled with sultry scarlet lips

As they prepared to indulge

So be proud of your shapely curves

Wear your thighs in style

Why not ,at least, taste the h’ordeurves

And savour them with a smile

The 30s: Fred and Ginger

The incomparable Ginger and Fred had the moves and the style. It was said at the time that she gave him sex and he gave her class. This was figuratively speaking as their relationship was on screen only.
They were absolute perfection and the perfect foil during the depression years when often the only joy people had in their lives was the rare night out at the movies. In those days entertainment wasn’t taken for granted and it was often a choice between dinner out or a movie because there wasn’t enough money for both.

The movies were an escape and they had to be special. Not a re-run of every day troubles but something out of the ordinary which could send people soaring beyond normality and into the realms of a fairytale world where everything was beautiful.

Fred and Ginger were beautiful. Well Ginger was and Fred,well,he was just Fred. Dancing man extraordinaire. These photos are from one of their very best; ‘Follow The Fleet’.

Oh how divine were these two when they danced together. This routine to ‘Let’s Face the music and dance’. Something we all should do when the chips are down eh.
